Teenagers at risk from Eating Disorders
This week is Eating Disorder Awareness week It is not a big step from skipping meals, low calorie dieting and excessive exercising to anorexia or bulimia. According to a study in the British Medical Association Journal (1999 ) within one year, dieting adolescents had an eightfold- increased risk of developing a full blown eating disorder, with severe dieters eighteen more times likely to develop the illness.
