Charm or hard graft – which gets you further?

There was a topic on The Wright Stuff on Channel 5 this morning, asking the question of whether being charming or putting your nose to the grindstone gets you further. I’d say it was a combination of the two – if you’re a charming skiver you’ll get found out eventually, and no one likes a pompous know-it-all…so do we tell our kids to forget about the exams and cultivate that charisma? 😉
